Built in 2011, this spacious Grand Marina Village home is situated just steps from the Grand Marina, Mosley’s Café and the walking paths and waterfront greenbelt. This contemporary house offers a large, first floor living room, open chef’s kitchen, dining room, four bedrooms, three bathrooms, a powder room, home office, bonus room, laundry room, & an attached 2-car garage with an electric car charger.

The house has wonderful curb appeal with a shingled, seaside cottage exterior design that is enhanced by the mature, drought-resistant landscaping that is as pretty as it is low maintenance. A colonnaded front porch is mirrored by another covered porch directly above, and symmetrical windows and cottage railings accentuate the clean lines of the classic, shingled façade.

Once inside, the spacious, open floor plan combines contemporary elegance with functionality. An expansive great room includes a living room, dining room and a spacious, open kitchen. The beautiful kitchen offers sophisticated finishes that include a large center island/breakfast bar, slab granite counters, plenty of Shaker-style cabinets and premium stainless steel KitchenAid appliances. The living room offers crown moulding, a fireplace, a built-in entertainment center and plenty of windows for abundant natural light. High ceilings create a feeling of airiness, and crown moulding and hardwood floors provide a classic finish to this terrific, open space.  Sliding doors in the dining area open to a private outdoor entertainment patio that offers redwood fencing, stone pavers, a dedicated gas line for a gas grill and a natural green screen with potted foliage. A half bath, and direct access to the garage, are both conveniently situated on this main floor.

Upstairs, a second-floor landing has a high ceiling that extends to the third floor landing. Easily large enough for a casual sitting room or play area, the landing has a built-in storage cabinet and a large pair of built-in bookshelves on either side of a wide, cushioned window seat. An attractive  laundry room is tucked away off of the landing as well, and has handsome, built-in storage, a sink and quartz counters.

The beautiful second floor master suite is truly a retreat, and has a charming balcony, walk-in closet with built-in organizers, and a large, spa-like bathroom that offers quartz counters, a soaking tub, a glass-enclosed shower, private WC, and a double-sink vanity. Two additional carpeted, generously-sized bedrooms share a large Jack-and-Jill bathroom that has a dual vanity and a separate shower/bath complete this floor.

A special feature of this home is the versatile third-floor family room, home office, spacious fourth bedroom and full bathroom. Built-in desks off of the family room make this an ideal teen study or play space, an expansive, private office or a large guest or au pair suite.

This sophisticated home offers newer construction and modern amenities in a unique, north shore marina setting. With a waterfront location, three neighborhood parks and the quality of life and top-performing schools that make Alameda so desirable, this beautiful, contemporary home is truly special.

Alameda was once a peninsula connected to the Oakland docks. In 1902, a canal was dredged to enable easier shipping access, and that turned Alameda into an island. A little off the beaten track, Alameda has a laid-back vibe all its own. Despite its 80,000 residents, there's still a small-town feeling in Alameda.

A 4th of July Parade, complete with horse-drawn carriages, embodies the small-town feel in Alameda, which has preserved much of its Victorian housing stock, cottages, and central, walkable shopping district along Park Street. The Alameda Theater on Park Street was restored to its art deco glory. Civic pride runs high here; formerly the Carnegie Library, the Alameda Free Library was transformed into a multimillion-dollar showplace that earned a Silver LEED certification. Kids play soccer on former parade grounds of the converted army barracks. Crown Memorial State Beach and Shoreline Drive attract wind surfers.

With more than 10,000 buildings constructed before 1930, there is a rich and varied architectural heritage in the area playing a role in Alameda's real estate market conditions. Historic Queen Anne's, more than 1,500 ornately decorated Victorians, and California Craftsmans are some of the most desirable homes here along its tree-lined streets.
